Following the February release of Stand Above The Streams, his sophomore full-length album for Constellation, saxophonist and experimental composer Jason Sharp has worked up a truly breathtaking live interpretation of his studio-based work, alongside Montreal-based sound artist Adam Basanta. The pair will bring this riveting electro-acoustic performance to audiences in France as well as Ljubljana’s Sonica Festival this fall.
Jason and Adam deftly conduct a dense interplay of saxophone, amplified breath and heartbeat connected to an array of electronic treatments, rhythmic triggers and controlled feedback, drawing the listener into a riveting sonic landscape where thickets of granular sonic detail and transcendent waves of refracted melody overtake one another by turns. These rare shows are not to be missed.
